WVHRDC Logo Design Contest

The Western Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (WVHRDC) announces the conduct of the WVHRDC Logo Design Contest to search for that symbol that will best embody the health consortium in Western Visayas.

All contestants must declare that the logo presented is his/her original work, has not been submitted as an entry in any other competition, and does not infringe on any third party's existing copyright/s. Any complaint that may arise due to similarities, likeness or comparison of the submitted design is the sole accountability of the contestant as he/she is responsible for proving its authenticity. The logo-making competition will be judged according to the following criteria: symbolic meaning, creativity visual appeal and overall impact.

The winning entry will be chosen by a Board of Judges. The winners will be informed through formal communication that would be sent thru fastest means by the WVHRDC Secretariat. The winners will receive a Certificate of Recognition and cash prizes. The decision of the Board of Judges is final.

All entries submitted for the contest becomes the exclusive property of the WVHRDC. The consortium will have exclusive rights to publish, upload on its websites and other media, use on corporate materials such as letterheads and envelopes, and print on its advocacy materials the winning logo design. The WVHRDC reserves the right to further make improvements and alterations on the final output of the winning entry.

INVITATION FOR NOMINATION

Keio University Medical Science Fund is now accepting nominations for the Keio Medical Science Prize 2015. Established in 1996, Keio University annually awards the Keio Medical Science Prize to recognize researchers who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of medicine or life sciences.

Criteria

Nominee must have a breakthrough in the fields of medicine and life sciences, and/or related fields.
Nominee must have an outstanding contribution to basic and clinical medicine.

Selection

13 selection committee members and over 60 specialists from various fields, within and outside Keio University, will select laureates through rigorous review process.

Eligibility

Nominees must be currently active in their field of research, and be expected to make future contributions to the field.

Prize

Each laureate receives a certificate of merit, medal and a monetary award of 10 million yen.

Nomination

Individuals are limited to one nomination each.
Institutions or organizations may make as many nomination as they can.
In case of multiple nominations, nominations are limited to One nominee per research theme.

Note: A nomination should be for one researcher. Keio University does not accept nominations for groups.

Invitation to the International Forum on Harnessing Women’s Talents in Science, Technology and Innovation

The International Science and Technology and Innovation Centre (ISTIC) for South-South Cooperation under the Auspices of UNESCO is inviting participants to the International Forum on Harnessing Women’s Talents in Science, Technology and Innovation which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 25-26 May 2015.

The main objective of the forum is to share perspectives in devising strategies to address the imbalance of women participation at the leadership level in science, technology and engineering in the business and government sectors. Relative to this, we are seeking assistance in nominating candidate(s) to participate in the forum. The participant must possess the following minimum criteria:

Holding a senior position in the organization involved in women’s affairs
Has good command of the English language (both oral and written)
Must be in good health

The organizers will provide hotel accommodation and local hospitality for the duration of the forum to selected international participants. Since the organizers will not provide travel grants to the participants, international airfare will be shouldered by the sending agency.

Basic Research Ethics Review and Standard Operating Procedures training for ERC SOP team

Dear WVHRDC members:

Good day!

As part of the continuing education for ethics review, the Unified Biomedical Research Ethics Review Committee (UBRERC) of West Visayas State University will host two training-workshops. The trainings are on Basic Research Ethics Review and Standard Operating Procedures training for ERC SOP team. The training workshop topics will be done simultaneously for two days, so it is advisable that your institution determines which training your delegates would attend. This two-day training will be on July 27-28, 2016 at Smallville 21 Hotel, Smallville, Diversion Road, Iloilo City.

As per the recommendation of the lecturers from PHREB. It is in this connection that we would like to invite faculty members/staffs of your institution to attend this training. The number of participants in each training-workshop is limited to twenty-five only. To defray the training expenses, the UBRERC is charging Php 3,000.00/person for registration.
